Collaborative Art

LI:  To use different types of warm and cool colours to recreate a world-known painting from Van Gogh.

This week’s art is about Van Gogh and his famous art piece “The Starry Night”. The Class was divided into 2 groups of 16 people, 1 of each group remade “The Starry Night” in warm colours and cool colours digitally. Each group divided 16 pieces of the Starry Night with each person in the group. Working as a collaborative team we gathered all our pieces to 1 DLO to finally reach our desired outcome.

I found this activity fun but difficult because it was fun to draw and use different shapes, and it was difficult because it was hard to put it all together and use different colours.

Worm tunnel art

LI: To make use of the whole space,to shade and blend colour,to use complementary colours.

In this activity we learn to make use of the whole space on the paper and to blend and shade using complementary colours. Complementary colours are colours that that are opposite one another on the colour wheel and when used next to each other stand out.

We found this activity fun because I learnt how to shade and how to make an illusional art.

Taniwha Art

This week LS2 have been doing Taniwha art to represent the Taniwha that lived in the panmure basin, some people say the Taniwhas live in our Panmure basin and the Taniwha name is called Moko Ika Hikawaru, The Taniwha Moko Ika Hika waru was described to have eight tails. Taniwhas are Maori creatures that are believed to hide in river, Some people also believed Taniwha abducted women.

I enjoyed this activity because I learned more about the Taniwha Moko Ika Hika Waru and the Maori culutre.

Whale Tail

This week I did an art design about whale tails. I needed to think of a design that represents about my whales tail that I did.

First I thought of a design I wanted to put on my whale tail. The design I picked was eyes & waves.

Then I needed to explain what my whale tale repesents for example. The white & black   circles on my whale tail repesents the eyes of a whale. The lines repesents the waves of the sea or ocean.

Last the color I picked for my whale tail is blue, white and black.

I enjoyed making my whale tail. I did well on my art design. I need to improve on colouring faster.
