Evaluating

I learnt how to evaluate texts.

First we read an article about a swimming pool. Crowds at the Chinese Swimming pool. We also found out reasons like if it is not dangerous or it is dangerous.

Then we thought about if it was crowded or not, if it was dangerous or it was safe, I choose dangerous or safe. I said It will be dangerous because you might fall down in the water and you will drown if you don’t have a floatie. If it was safe I would say, t is safe because there are floaties and if you fall down the floaties will not make you drown. 

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to evaluate. I did well on saying if it was safe or not safe. I need to improve on telling more about the Chinese swimming pool.

SSR Selfie

Today I did an SSR Selfie. The book I read is called Super-Freak.

First I read the book for 15 minutes. Then I tell who are the main characters in the story, And who is the author & illustrator.

Next I tell what has happened in the story so far. The story tells that Jacob, one of the main characters, Has a type of super power, an amazing super power.

Lastly, I chose 3  new words and their meaning to put on my SSR Selfie. I Also need to put a picture on my SSR.

I enjoyed this task because I leant how to read some more books. I did well on telling the three new words. I need to improve on telling more of what happened in the story.

 

 

Whale Tail

This week I did an art design about whale tails. I needed to think of a design that represents about my whales tail that I did.

First I thought of a design I wanted to put on my whale tail. The design I picked was eyes & waves.

Then I needed to explain what my whale tale repesents for example. The white & black   circles on my whale tail repesents the eyes of a whale. The lines repesents the waves of the sea or ocean.

Last the color I picked for my whale tail is blue,white and black.

I enjoyed making my whale tail. I did well on my art design. I need to improve on colouring faster.

Bees

My group and I learnt how to film our presentation about bees.

First we had to check our information to make sure there are no mistakes.

Then we practiced to get no mistakes for our video. For a example I say that what is the Bee’s Ecosystem.

Last we recorded our presentation. The presentation was a bit hard for me because I keepted on making mistakes.

I enjoyed this task beacuse I learnt more bee facts. I did well on recording. I need to improve on practicing.

Sharks

 

I learnt how to use extended discussion cards for a book called sharks.

First we read the last two pages about the eagle rays and stingrays.

The questioner has to read the first question so they can tell the comperhender to answer the questioner. The comperhender needs to tell the answer for the questioner’s answer the comperhender has to have proof.

Next the Oposser has to has to always be wrong in case it is wrong. Last, we all agree who is right.

Last the clarifier tells everyone if they all agree or they will answer in their own words.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt some new facts about sharks like for example there are more than 1,250 species of sharks in the whole world. I did well on being the questioner. I need to improve on being a clarifier

American Football | Passing

I revised American Football.

First we revised throwing and catching the ball.  To throw the ball you’ll need to use the ring finger and put it onto the third piece of lace on the ball and then throw. To catch you’ll need to put your fingers like an triangle and let the rest of your fingers spread out.

Next we then played a game called down, down, down. To play you would need to throw the ball to your partner. And if they dont catch then they with have to kneel down with one leg so every time they don’t catch the ball they lose a leg or an arm.

Lastly we played a game called cone drop. To play you and your group would need to try knock out three cones when throwing the ball. The first group to knock out all the cones wins.

I enjoyed this task beacause I like sports. I need to improve on throwing the ball. I did well on helping my team member.

SSR Selfie Sharks

I read a book called Sharks. I read about 1-2 pages. 

The key facts that I got from the book is that sometimes Sharks eat people by accident.

The smallest Sharks eat a pygmy shark. The last thing is the biggest sharks eat seals, dolphins, sea lions and mackerel. 

I learned that big sharks eat seals, dolphins, sea lions and mackerel.

Ki O Rahi

Today we played a game called Ki O Rahi.

First we watched a video that show’s and explains the game Ki O Rahi. In the video and game it means peace.

Next we played a game called Taniwha and Kioma were you, stand, lie down and sit down. and you need to try and touch your partner well your partner runs off.

Last we learnt the parts again and played a little bit of Ki O Rahi we only throwed the ball to the tupu.

I enjoyed this task beacuse I learnt new stuff about Ki O Rahi, I did will on throwing the ball, I need to improve on blocking the ball.

 

Te Reo Maori

I learnt how to say numbers in Te Reo Maori.

First we learned how to count up to ten in Maori, for a example tahi=one and rua=two.

Then we learnt how to say really high numbers like 50 & 60 and when playing with cards someone would say a random number for example: rua te kau means 20.

To make 20 you would need 2 tens cards and hand it to Whaea Odie. She would say ho mai rua te kau which means hand me 20. After you handed it to her then you would say ane which means here.

I enjoyed this because I learnt alot about this task. I did well on writing the words. I need to improve on learning more about maori stuff.

Diagram labelling

A Diagram is something that shows you how an object works and how it looks.  

Diagrams need labels to show something, For example, a car has windows and a door. 

If there are two body parts that are connected then you can make a bar transparent and put it on top of the body parts that are connected, Like for example, ears if there are two ears then you can use a bar. 

Also make sure to make the lines and labels spread out so people can see. 

Make sure that your objects are in an aesthetic way.
